Weekend Chocolate Recipe: Chocolate Bar Pudding

The weekend is a great opportunity to get to the kitchen to try something new. This chocolate pudding is something we make at home all of the time – it’s easy and a crowd-pleaser!

2-3 chocolate bars* (dark, preferably, milk is ok too. We can’t vouch for white chocolate)
1/4 cup corn starch
2 cups milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar, dump out a little if you are using milk chocolate bars
1 teaspoon vanilla

* 2 large bars or 2 -3 if there are small. Whichever chocolate bar you like best. If you add a flavored bar, then “VoilĂ !” you have flavored pudding.

To make:

Pour your milk, cream, sugar, and corn starch into a saucepan on low-medium heat. Let that mixture cook for about 8-10 minutes. Stir enough to avoid burning. You’ll know it’s ready when it starts to get thick and almost frothy. When you stir around with your spatula, it should be covered in white frothiness when you take it out of the saucepan. turn your heat way down. Throw in the bars. Stir from the center until they are fully incorporated. Turn off the heat entirely. Stir in your vanilla. Pour into your vessel and refrigerate for about an hour. We always make a double batch (yum) and make it in a large baking pan. But then, we like a lot of pudding skin.

Let us know how it goes!
